Plate Roll - MCB (4 rolls) - Vertical Configuration
Heavy Plate Rolling: Davi MCB 4-Roll Vertical Rolling Machine (MCB/V) Live Workshop Testing

Customer Need & Context
Fabricating large-diameter cylinders, tall storage tanks, or specialized SMR/AMR nuclear vessels presents material handling challenges. When rolling heavy plates horizontally, gravity causes thin-wall or high-aspect-ratio shells to deflect or collapse under their own weight, requiring expensive overhead support systems, complex crane maneuvers, and increased labor risk.

The Davi Solution
The MCB 4-Roll in vertical configuration (MCB/V) eliminates structural plate sagging by leveraging gravity naturally throughout the bending process. Shown here during live testing at our headquarters in Cesena, Italy, this machine utilizes Davi’s planetary guides to deliver maximum bending force while minimizing top-roll deflection. The MCB/V maintains total electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical roll alignment even during complex forming sequences.

Benefits
  • Reduced Handling Complexity: Eliminates the need for continuous overhead crane support during rolling, improving shop floor safety.
  • Superior Pre-Bending Precision: Achieves tight geometric tolerances with minimal flat ends, reducing downstream fit-up and welding times.
  • Application Versatility: Adapts to fabricate vertical storage tanks, silos, aerospace components, and Small/Advanced Modular Reactors (SMR/AMR).

Optimize your production with world-leading expertise.
