wind energy
Davi is the undisputed global leader in rolling technology for the Wind Energy sector. With nearly two decades of experience and the recent record-breaking years, we provide the most advanced plate rolls to the industry's biggest players. From the monopiles of the North Sea to the next generation of floating foundations, Davi engineering is the backbone of renewable energy infrastructure.
Scaling for Megawatt Power
As offshore wind turbines grow in size, so do their foundations. Davi has designed the technology required to roll the world’s largest and heaviest steel structures:
Our machines are the industry standard, capable of rolling plates exceeding 150 mm (6 in) in thickness and diameters up to 15 m (50 ft).
The New Frontier
The transition to deeper waters requires floating structures (Semi-sub, Spar, or TLP) where weight optimization and precision are critical: Davi machines provide the accuracy needed for the complex buoyancy tanks and structural columns of floating platforms.

Over 300 dedicated wind lines installed worldwide
As offshore wind turbines scale up, fabricating foundations requires rolling exceptionally thick steel plates. Davi meets this challenge with our heavy-duty MAV 3-roll variable-axis plate rolls, which are capable of rolling plates exceeding 150 mm (6 in) in thickness and diameters up to 15 m (50 ft). By adjusting the interaxis distance between the bottom rolls, the MAV system maximizes the leverage arm to provide superior pre-bending and re-rolling performance. This allows manufacturers to achieve the exact circularity required for seamless subsequent welding while maintaining high structural integrity and fatigue resistance in deep-water environments.
High-volume wind tower production demands speed, tight tolerances, and minimal reliance on manual trial-and-error. Davi offers dedicated, highly automated rolling lines integrated with our advanced iRoll eXtreme CNC control system and iCone software. This setup manages the position of pushers and hydro-guides in real time, allowing for continuous plate feeding to automate the rolling of complex conical tower sections with perfect repeatability. By coupling this automation with an integrated laser measuring system or AI-Vision, our lines eliminate test scrap and allow a single operator to safely manage the entire process, dramatically increasing manufacturing throughput and project ROI.
Floating wind foundations, such as semi-submersibles, spar-buoys, and tension-leg platforms, require high-precision rolling for critical buoyancy tanks, structural columns, and bracing. Depending on the slenderness and design of the components, Davi provides both horizontal and vertical rolling systems using our advanced 3-roll MAV and 4-roll MCB geometries. These machines deliver the extreme precision needed to form complex, lightweight structural columns and high-fatigue-resistant jacket bracing, ensuring the structural stability of deep-water floating platforms while optimizing overall weight and fabrication times.
