Parallelism
The precise geometric alignment where the axes of the machine rolls remain perfectly equidistant across their entire length to prevent twisting or spiraling of the workpiece.
Technical FAQ
Reducing the straight flat end on thick plates requires moving the bending rolls as close to the pinching point as possible. A flat gearbox features an eccentric rotation axis that avoids physical interference between hydraulic motors and the top roll cylinder shaft. It allows the side rolls to travel closer to the top roll (minimum gauge), achieving an exceptionally short flat end without compromising machine frame capacity. Davi exclusive flat gearboxes are a core component in achieving precision pre-bending on variable-axis machines.
Roll parallelism is managed through the patented Davi Servo-Tronic system. Servo-Tronic combines independent hydraulic and electronic control circuits. Dedicated pumping groups deliver equal oil volume and pressure to the cylinders at both ends of the roll, keeping them parallel mechanically. Fast-responding electro-valves managed by digital Roll-by-Wire architecture perform micro-adjustments. Even in the event of total electronic failure, mechanical roll parallelism is maintained hydraulically to safeguard the machine.
